Revised consolidated forecasts for the fiscal year ending March 2027:

For the April-September half, sales rose 8.3% to ¥6.113 billion. The operating loss narrowed to ¥36 million from ¥196 million a year earlier, while ordinary profit came to ¥92 million and net profit to ¥54 million, compared with losses of ¥97 million and ¥94 million, respectively. The company had forecast first-half sales of ¥5.631 billion and a net loss of ¥118 million on May 14, 2026.

Seki attributed the beat to higher advertising-related orders in the Tokyo metropolitan area and growth in its water-based flexographic printing business, along with progress in passing rising raw material costs on to prices. Sales in the core printing segment rose 10.4% to ¥4.559 billion, with an operating loss of ¥3 million versus ¥201 million a year earlier.

The interim dividend was ¥13 per share, and the company kept its year-end forecast at ¥13 for an annual ¥26.

The board also approved absorbing wholly owned subsidiary Watanabe Shiko, saying the impact on consolidated results will be minor.

Next steps: Seki plans to file its semiannual report on Nov. 6, 2026, and begin paying the interim dividend on Dec. 1, 2026. The Watanabe Shiko merger takes effect April 1, 2027.
