Silicon Studio (3907) on Oct. 8 cut its forecast for the year ending November 2026, now projecting a net loss of ¥325 million versus the ¥228 million loss it forecast in July, on sales of ¥4.07 billion instead of ¥4.23 billion.

Revised FY sales¥4.07 billion (prev. ¥4.23 billion)
Revised FY operating loss¥266 million (prev. ¥200 million)

The revision replaces the outlook issued July 13 alongside the company's first-half results. Silicon Studio now expects an operating loss of ¥266 million, compared with ¥200 million previously.

For the nine months through Aug. 31, sales fell 4.6% to ¥3.08 billion. The company swung to an operating loss of ¥206 million from an operating profit of ¥126 million a year earlier, and to a net loss of ¥300 million from a net profit of ¥147 million.

The company said sales in its core development promotion and support business missed its initial plan after a major contract development project ended and other work did not make up the shortfall, the timing of some revenue recognition slipped, and a large existing client ended a service. It also booked a ¥39 million extraordinary loss on the impairment of shares it holds.

Nine-month sales in the development promotion and support segment fell 5.0% to ¥1.90 billion and segment profit fell 79.9% to ¥60 million, which included a provision for order losses on a 3DCG video production project recorded as cost of sales. Sales in the human resources segment fell 3.9% to ¥1.19 billion, with segment profit down 3.3% to ¥205 million.

Silicon Studio kept its plan, announced July 13, to pay no dividend for the year. It paid ¥10 per share for the previous year.
