KOA Corporation (6999) on Oct. 23 raised its forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2027, lifting projected operating profit 55.0% to ¥8.31 billion and net profit attributable to owners of the parent to ¥9.66 billion, and increased its year-end dividend forecast to ¥46.50 per share from ¥31.50.

FY operating profit forecast¥8.31 billion
FY net profit forecast¥9.66 billion
Annual dividend forecast¥78.00 per share
First-half net sales¥43.6 billion

The electronic components maker also reported first-half results for April-September 2026, with net sales up 26.0% from a year earlier to ¥43.6 billion, operating profit up 186.4% to ¥3.74 billion and net profit up 404.1% to ¥5.82 billion. First-half operating profit came in 47.2% above the forecast the company issued on July 23.

KOA said growth in sales for AI-related equipment, mainly in China, pushed first-half revenue above plan, while profit also reflected differences in the adjustment of closing items. First-half net profit includes a ¥3.10 billion extraordinary gain from government compensation for the relocation of a Chinese subsidiary's factory. The company said that gain was already built into its previous forecast and was not a factor in the revision.

KOA expects demand from automotive, industrial equipment and AI-related equipment customers to remain firm from the third quarter onward, and kept its exchange-rate assumption for that period at ¥159 to the U.S. dollar.

Under a policy of a minimum annual dividend of ¥30 per share and a consolidated payout ratio of around 30%, KOA raised its year-end dividend forecast by ¥15.00 to ¥46.50. Together with the interim dividend of ¥31.50, the annual payout is set at ¥78.00, up from the previous forecast of ¥63.00 and from ¥32.00 for the year ended March 2026.

Next steps: KOA plans to file its semiannual securities report on Nov. 6, 2026, and to begin paying the interim dividend on Dec. 1, 2026.
