In Japan, new life insurance contracts at subsidiary Financial Japan are running ahead of plan, the company said. Subsidiary Agent Insurance Group has also signed the final agreement and completed the transfer of insurance contracts and related assets from Advance Create, with related commission income to be booked progressively from the current fiscal year. In the U.S., the company cited local market development, cross-selling and higher-than-expected revenue-sharing income from major partner insurers in its corporate insurance division.

In a separate filing, the company said its board approved the final agreement on Sept. 30 and the acquisition closed the same day. The assets comprise customer contract positions and related customer information for 44,680 non-life and 153,665 life insurance policies held by Advance Create. The price was not disclosed, citing confidentiality obligations; the company said it had confirmed the price was appropriate by reference to past transactions.
