SUMIDA CORPORATION (6817) lowered its net profit forecast for the year ending Dec. 31, 2026 by 37.0% to ¥2.3 billion from ¥3.65 billion, while raising its revenue forecast to ¥163.8 billion and keeping its year-end dividend at ¥27.0 per share.

The electronic components maker revised the full-year consolidated forecast it issued on Feb. 6, 2026:

Sumida said its three growth areas under the 2026-2028 mid-term plan — xEV, data centers and Schmidbauer — expanded, pushing nine-month revenue to a record. However, profit improvement from volume growth, passing on raw material costs, new product launches and productivity gains fell short of plans in the third quarter, amid negative currency effects and high copper and other material prices. The forecast assumes ¥158.00 per dollar, ¥183.00 per euro and copper at $13,000 per ton.

For the nine months to September, revenue rose 14.4% to ¥123.6 billion, operating profit fell 25.1% to ¥4.11 billion and net profit fell 52.0% to ¥1,285 million. The company booked a ¥987 million product warranty provision related to a quality issue in certain automotive products, which it said was limited to specific products.

The year-end dividend remains at ¥27.0, for an annual total of ¥53.00, in line with its policy of a payout ratio of 30% or more while considering a 3% DOE.

Next: Sumida will hold an online earnings briefing for institutional investors and analysts on Nov. 5, 2026.
