In its specified cell-processed products business, the number of S-DSC® processing cases, based on technology provided by Shiseido, exceeded the prior year. However, immune-cell sales fell as some partner medical institutions saw fewer overseas patients from a country that had temporarily restricted travel to Japan, and the launch of new offerings including adipose-derived mesenchymal stromal cells (ASC) was delayed, generating no sales. In the CDMO business, Medinet completed and booked sales from a technology transfer toward contract manufacturing of investigational products for T-Cell Nouveau Co., Ltd., but several contract projects slated to begin manufacturing during the year slipped into the fiscal year ending September 2027.

Lower general administrative expenses were offset by the sales shortfall and higher R&D spending, as development advanced after the company exercised an option for exclusive development and commercialization rights to Stempeucel® (development code MDNT-03), an allogeneic mesenchymal stromal cell product approved for manufacturing and marketing in India. Ordinary results improved on strong investment partnership performance and a reversal of allowance for doubtful accounts following partial recovery of long-term loans.
