Graphite Design Inc. (7847) on Oct. 1 raised its non-consolidated net profit forecast for the fiscal year ending Feb. 28, 2027, by 60.6% to ¥334 million from ¥208 million.

The golf shaft maker also lifted its full-year sales forecast by 14.9% to ¥3.32 billion and operating profit by 71.0% to ¥525 million. For the first half (March 1-Aug. 31, 2026), the company raised its sales forecast by 32.1% to ¥1.877 billion, operating profit by 256.1% to ¥381 million, recurring profit by 286.1% to ¥417 million and net profit by 352.3% to ¥294 million from ¥65 million. First-half net profit a year earlier was ¥17 million.

Graphite Design said golf equipment sales in Japan were roughly flat industry-wide, but the popularity of its TOUR AD 2026 model FI in the U.S. market drove strong orders from foreign-affiliated club makers, pushing sales volume of its own-brand shafts above initial assumptions. Currency movements also contributed, lifting sales and improving the gross margin.

For the full year, the company said it was difficult to assume further sales growth at home and abroad, citing tighter inventory management by club makers, higher oil prices amid Middle East tensions, uncertainty over the dollar's strength against the yen and rising global inflation concerns.

The company kept its annual dividend forecast at ¥30 per share, consisting of ¥15 interim and ¥15 year-end payments.
