Altech books ¥96 million flood loss, withdraws full-year net profit forecast

Altech Co., Ltd. (9972) booked a ¥96 million extraordinary loss after flooding at a subsidiary in Fukui Prefecture and withdrew its full-year net profit forecast of ¥400 million, now listing it as undetermined.

Heavy rain on Aug. 29-30 flooded the site and buildings of consolidated subsidiary Altech Shinzairyo Co. in Sakai, Fukui Prefecture, damaging production equipment, raw materials and product inventory and temporarily halting operations. The ¥96 million provision for disaster losses, covering restoration costs and other flood-related losses, was booked in the third quarter based on reasonable estimates available at this point.

Altech kept its forecasts for the fiscal year ending November 2026 at sales of ¥18.0 billion, operating profit of ¥700 million and ordinary profit of ¥500 million, saying those were broadly tracking the original plan. It withdrew the net profit forecast and the earnings-per-share forecast of ¥29.05 because the impact of the flood is still being assessed.

Sales fell 3.4%, while net profit rose 243.1%. Segment profit at the trading business fell 52.5% to ¥195 million on fewer sales of large machinery, while the preform business posted a segment profit of ¥512 million versus a loss of ¥353 million a year earlier. The year-end dividend forecast of ¥7 was unchanged.

Next steps: Altech expects full resumption of operations at the subsidiary in late November 2026 or later, and said it will announce a net profit forecast promptly once a reasonable estimate becomes possible.
