Ahresty cuts annual operating profit forecast to ¥300 million; net profit undecided

Tue, Sep 29, 2026 15:00 JST Ahresty Corporation (5852.T) Aluminum die casting 中文

Ahresty Corporation (5852) on Sept. 29 cut its operating profit forecast for the year ending March 2027 by 78.6% to ¥300 million from ¥1.4 billion, projected a recurring loss of ¥800 million and left its net profit forecast undetermined.

FY operating profit forecast¥300 million (prev. ¥1.4 billion)
FY revenue forecast¥180.8 billion (prev. ¥161.6 billion)
1H net profit forecast¥1.9 billion loss (prev. ¥700 million loss)
FY net profit forecastUndetermined (prev. ¥500 million)

For the first half ending Sept. 30, the aluminum die-caster raised its revenue forecast 9.8% to ¥87.8 billion from ¥80.0 billion, but widened its projected operating loss to ¥1.2 billion from ¥800 million and its recurring loss to ¥1.85 billion from ¥1.2 billion. The first-half net loss attributable to owners of the parent is now seen at ¥1.9 billion, or ¥76.18 per share, versus ¥700 million previously.

Full-year forecastPrevious (May 20)Revised
Revenue¥161.6 billion¥180.8 billion
Operating profit¥1.4 billion¥300 million
Recurring profit¥800 million¥800 million loss
Net profit attributable to owners¥500 millionUndetermined

Ahresty said revenue was lifted by price revisions reflecting higher energy and labor costs, higher selling prices tied to raw material costs and the yen's weakness, offsetting lower orders from some major customers at its China plant. Operating profit was hit by those lower orders, weaker profitability in North American die casting and a larger-than-expected impact from rising aluminum ingot prices. Recurring profit was also hurt by foreign exchange losses on the revaluation of foreign-currency receivables and payables. A ¥540 million special retirement payment tied to streamlining production at the China plant, originally expected in the second half, was booked in the first quarter.

By segment, North American die casting is now forecast to post a ¥1.5 billion loss versus a ¥400 million profit, and Asia a ¥700 million loss versus zero, while Japan's segment profit forecast was raised to ¥1.5 billion from ¥400 million.

The company left its full-year net profit forecast undetermined while it reviews the value of fixed and other assets in its Asian and North American die-casting businesses, and said it will disclose a figure promptly once a reasonable estimate is possible. Its dividend forecast of ¥34 per share (¥10 interim, ¥24 year-end) is unchanged.
