COVER Corporation (5253) on Sept. 24 raised its operating profit forecast for the first half of the fiscal year ending March 2027 by 81.3% to ¥3.5 billion from ¥1.93 billion, while keeping its revenue forecast unchanged at ¥22.27 billion.

H1 operating profit forecast¥3.5 billion (prev. ¥1.93 billion)
H1 net profit forecast¥2.3 billion (prev. ¥1.35 billion)
H1 revenue forecast¥22.27 billion (unchanged)
H1 EPS forecast¥35.03 (prev. ¥20.56)

The revised forecast covers the six months from April 1 to Sept. 30, 2026, and replaces guidance announced on May 14, 2026. Ordinary profit is now projected at ¥3.4 billion, up 76.2% from ¥1.93 billion, and interim net profit at ¥2.3 billion, up 70.4% from ¥1.35 billion. Projected earnings per share rose to ¥35.03 from ¥20.56.

For the same period a year earlier, the company reported revenue of ¥21.754 billion, operating profit of ¥2.666 billion, ordinary profit of ¥2.674 billion and net profit of ¥1.999 billion, or ¥30.46 per share.

The company said "hololive Dreams," a smartphone game it co-operates that launched in July 2026, got off to a faster start than initially assumed, pushing its licensing and tie-up business above plan. Its merchandising business, meanwhile, diverged from the initial plan due to inventory shortages in the first quarter and the timing of product launches, including trading card games. The resulting shift in sales mix affected its spending plan, and costs are running below the original plan, leaving revenue roughly on target while profit is expected to significantly exceed initial assumptions.

COVER left its full-year forecast unchanged, saying it is currently difficult to reasonably estimate how the first-half upside factors will affect second-half operations and that it is still examining whether they will continue. The company said it will promptly disclose any revision if one becomes necessary.
