Nippon Ham cuts full-year business profit forecast 18% to ¥50.0 billion

Mon, Nov 02, 2026 15:40 JST Nippon Ham (2282.T) Food 中文

Nippon Ham (2282) on Nov. 2 lowered its business profit forecast for the year ending March 31, 2027, to ¥50.0 billion from ¥61.0 billion, an 18.0% cut, and trimmed its net profit outlook to ¥35.0 billion from ¥38.0 billion, while keeping its revenue forecast at ¥1.5 trillion.

FY business profit forecast¥50.0 billion (from ¥61.0 billion)
FY net profit forecast¥35.0 billion (from ¥38.0 billion)
H1 business profit¥28.8 billion (down 20.7%)
Year-end dividend forecast¥60 (¥180 on a pre-split basis)

The company said the situation in the Middle East had driven up costs across the group. In its processed foods business, higher manufacturing costs are expected to exceed the profit secured in domestic operations, while its meat business expects soaring live-animal prices in Australia and rising feed costs, even as it sets selling prices in line with procurement costs. Despite insurance income related to a fire at a consolidated subsidiary, pretax and net profit are expected to fall short of the previous forecast due to lower business profit.

Business profit at the meat division fell 26.8% to ¥20.3 billion and at the processed foods division 40.1% to ¥1.3 billion, while the sports and entertainment division posted a 14.6% rise to ¥9.6 billion.

The company revised its year-end dividend forecast to ¥60 per share from ¥180 to reflect a three-for-one stock split effective Oct. 1, 2026. It said the forecast is unchanged at ¥180 on a pre-split basis.

Nippon Ham plans to file its semiannual securities report on Nov. 6, 2026, and is holding a results briefing for analysts and institutional investors on Nov. 2.
