Musashi raises full-year net profit forecast 50.6% to ¥589 million, trims sales

Musashi Co., Ltd. (7521) raised its consolidated net profit forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2027 by 50.6% to ¥589 million, citing gains on the sale of strategic shareholdings, while cutting its sales forecast 3.0% to ¥32.95 billion.

Full-year net profit forecast¥589 million (up 50.6%)
Full-year sales forecast¥32.95 billion (down 3.0%)
First-half net profit¥293 million (prev. ¥22 million)
Full-year operating profit forecast¥596 million (unchanged)

The revision, announced Oct. 27, 2026, updates first-half and full-year forecasts released on May 15, 2026, on both a consolidated and non-consolidated basis.

For the first half (April-September), Musashi now expects consolidated sales of ¥14.65 billion, 8.8% below its previous forecast. Operating profit is projected at ¥158 million, up from ¥27 million, and net profit attributable to owners of the parent at ¥293 million, up from ¥22 million.

The company said first-half sales of industrial inspection equipment, commercial filtration filters and LTO tape were firm, but its document digitization business, printing equipment and currency-handling machines were weak. Profit beat its earlier forecast as work on election system standardization was booked ahead of schedule and the company recorded gains on the sale of strategic shareholdings.

For the full year, second-half sales are expected to slightly exceed the earlier forecast, but full-year sales will still fall short, reflecting the first-half shortfall. Operating profit and ordinary profit forecasts were left unchanged at ¥596 million and ¥732 million, as the first-half upside from the election system work reflected earlier timing.

On a non-consolidated basis, Musashi cut its full-year sales forecast 3.9% to ¥26.90 billion and raised ordinary profit 6.2% to ¥429 million on higher non-operating income, with net profit up 76.5% to ¥420 million.
