Hokuriku Gas (9537) raised its consolidated net profit forecast for the year ending March 2027 by 15.8% to ¥2.12 billion, citing higher-than-planned gas sales volumes and lower-than-expected costs, including expenses for replacing aging gas pipes.

Revised FY net profit¥2.12 billion
Net profit revision+15.8%
Revised FY operating profit¥2.23 billion
First-half net profit¥1,066 million (down 12.9%)

The revision updates guidance published on May 15, 2026, for the April 2026-March 2027 fiscal year.

ItemPreviousRevisedChange
Net sales¥70.7 billion¥70.9 billion+0.3%
Operating profit¥1.92 billion¥2.23 billion+16.1%
Ordinary profit¥2.26 billion¥2.61 billion+15.5%
Net profit attributable to owners of parent¥1.83 billion¥2.12 billion+15.8%

Forecast earnings per share rose to ¥454.19 from ¥392.25. Compared with actual results for the year ended March 2026, the revised outlook implies a 10.0% rise in net sales but a 41.3% fall in operating profit and a 33.3% drop in net profit. The non-consolidated forecast was also raised, with net profit lifted to ¥1.93 billion from ¥1.69 billion.

For the April-September first half, net sales rose 0.8% to ¥27,760 million, while operating profit fell 25.5% to ¥1,108 million, ordinary profit fell 22.4% to ¥1,311 million and net profit fell 12.9% to ¥1,066 million. Gas sales volume exceeded the prior year as higher equipment utilization among commercial customers offset weaker water-heating and air-conditioning demand due to temperatures early in the period and in summer. Operating expenses rose ¥611 million to ¥26,652 million as higher volumes lifted raw material costs, even though LNG prices were lower than a year earlier. The company said its earnings are concentrated in the winter-to-early-spring heating season.

The year-end dividend forecast was kept at ¥80 per share. The equity ratio stood at 78.1% at the end of September, up 3.2 percentage points from the end of the previous fiscal year.

Next steps: The company plans to file its semiannual securities report on Nov. 13, 2026.
