MORESCO (5018) on Oct. 15, 2026 raised its consolidated net profit forecast for the fiscal year ending February 2027 by 80.6% to ¥2.8 billion from ¥1.55 billion, and lifted its year-end dividend forecast by ¥40 to ¥70 a share, bringing the annual payout to ¥95 from ¥55.

Revised net profit forecast¥2.8 billion (prev. ¥1.55 billion)
Revised operating profit forecast¥4.5 billion (prev. ¥2.4 billion)
Annual dividend forecast¥95 (prev. ¥55)
First-half net profit¥1.516 billion

The company now expects sales of ¥40.0 billion, up from ¥37.0 billion, operating profit of ¥4.5 billion versus ¥2.4 billion, and ordinary profit of ¥4.8 billion versus ¥2.7 billion. Earnings per share are projected at ¥304.87, compared with ¥168.77 previously. Against results for the year ended February 2026, the revised forecasts imply increases of 14.7% in sales, 90.1% in operating profit, 77.5% in ordinary profit and 83.6% in net profit.

MORESCO said higher auto production at its bases outside China boosted sales of die-casting oils and many other lubricant types, while price corrections reflecting higher raw material costs progressed in Japan and overseas. Profit was further lifted by stronger sales of high value-added products such as hard disk surface lubricants for data centers, and by progress in culling unprofitable products in its hot-melt adhesives business.

For the six months ended Aug. 31, 2026, sales rose 16.4% to ¥19.625 billion, operating profit jumped 158.8% to ¥2.457 billion and net profit attributable to owners of the parent climbed 199.5% to ¥1.516 billion. By region, Japan's segment profit rose 206.3% to ¥1.785 billion, while North America swung to a segment loss of ¥25 million from a profit of ¥102 million a year earlier as external sales fell 10.7%.

The company targets a consolidated payout ratio of 30% or more over the medium to long term; the revised forecast implies a ratio of about 31%. The interim dividend is ¥25 a share.

Payment of the interim dividend is scheduled to begin Nov. 11, 2026.
