The company said higher fuel prices increased fuel cost adjustment charges and revenue from electricity sold to other companies, while Hokkaido Denryoku Network revised its wheeling charges to reflect higher prices and interest rates. The wheeling charge revision was cited as the main driver of higher ordinary profit, and net profit rose mainly on the ordinary profit increase.

The revised forecast assumes combined retail and wholesale electricity sales unchanged at about 37.9 billion kWh and an exchange rate unchanged at about ¥160 per dollar, while the assumed crude oil CIF price was raised to about $110.0 per barrel from $85.0. From September onward, the company assumes ¥160 per dollar and crude at about $105 per barrel.

Even after the revision, the profit forecasts remain below results for the year ended March 2026, when the company posted operating profit of ¥73.2 billion, ordinary profit of ¥61.3 billion and net profit of ¥44.0 billion on revenue of ¥856.0 billion.
