Central Japan Railway Company (JR Central, 9022) said its consolidated subsidiary Nippon Sharyo, Ltd. (7102) raised its net profit forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2027 by 28.0% to ¥9.6 billion from ¥7.5 billion, and lifted its operating profit forecast by 44.3% to ¥12.7 billion.

Nippon Sharyo revised net profit¥9.6 billion (from ¥7.5 billion)
Revised operating profit¥12.7 billion (+44.3%)
Revised net sales¥113.0 billion
Revised EPS¥665.32

Nippon Sharyo announced the revision on Oct. 27, 2026, updating forecasts it published on April 24, 2026 for the year from April 1, 2026 to March 31, 2027. JR Central said the impact on its own consolidated results would be minor.

Net sales¥107.0 billion¥113.0 billion+5.6%

Ordinary profit¥9.3 billion¥13.4 billion+44.1%
Net profit attributable to owners of parent¥7.5 billion¥9.6 billion+28.0%

The revised operating profit forecast exceeds the previous fiscal year's actual of ¥11.615 billion, while the net profit forecast remains below the prior year's ¥11.661 billion. Net sales in the year ended March 2026 were ¥99.971 billion.

On a non-consolidated basis, Nippon Sharyo raised its sales forecast to ¥111.0 billion from ¥106.0 billion, ordinary profit to ¥13.3 billion from ¥9.1 billion and net profit to ¥9.6 billion from ¥7.5 billion, with EPS of ¥665.26.

The company said sales are expected to beat its earlier projection as each business is performing more solidly than assumed. On profits, it cited the absence of any impact on manufacturing processes from uncertainty over the Middle East situation, a higher overall profit margin driven by increased sales and changes in product mix, and progress in quality improvement, cost reduction and operational efficiency efforts.
