Echo Trading Co., Ltd. (7427) on Oct. 5, 2026, lowered its first-half net profit forecast for the fiscal year ending February 2027 to ¥187 million from ¥371 million, a 49.6% cut, citing rising purchase and logistics costs that it has not fully passed on to selling prices.

H1 net profit (revised)¥187 million (down 49.6% from prior forecast)
H1 operating profit (revised)¥330 million (down 40.5% from prior forecast)
H1 net sales (revised)¥55,064 million (up 1.0% from prior forecast)

The Tokyo Stock Exchange Standard Market-listed company now expects consolidated operating profit of ¥330 million for the March 1-Aug. 31, 2026, period, down 40.5% from its previous forecast, and ordinary profit of ¥314 million, down 43.3%. Earnings per share are now projected at ¥30.84, compared with ¥61.09 previously. The earlier forecast was announced on April 10, 2026.

Net sales are forecast at ¥55,064 million, 1.0% above the previous estimate, which the company attributed to strategic sales activities including planning and proposals to customers.

Echo Trading said it has been working to pass higher costs on to customers but has not been able to fully offset them, which lowered its gross profit margin and weighed on operating profit.

The company kept its full-year forecast for the fiscal year ending February 2027 unchanged from the figures published in its April 10, 2026, earnings report. Although first-half results trailed plan, it cited expected further sales growth from new customers, appropriate pass-through of rising costs to selling prices, and lower selling, general and administrative expenses from company-wide cost cuts. It said it would promptly disclose any revision if it judged one necessary.
