Awa Ginko (8388) on Sept. 25 raised its net profit forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2027 by 13.6% to ¥20.0 billion from ¥17.6 billion, and lifted its year-end dividend forecast to ¥22 per share from ¥18 on a post-split basis.

The bank also raised its consolidated ordinary revenue forecast by 14.6% to ¥134.8 billion from ¥117.6 billion, and its ordinary profit forecast by 13.8% to ¥29.6 billion from ¥26.0 billion. Net profit for the year ended March 2026 was ¥15.53 billion.

The bank said net interest income is expected to exceed its initial assumptions. Citing market conditions, it will also book gains on sales of shares, including strategic shareholdings, and improve the health of its securities portfolio, mainly by swapping yen bonds. First-half forecasts announced on July 28 were left unchanged.

In line with its policy of a payout ratio of at least 40%, the bank raised its year-end dividend forecast by ¥4 to ¥22, or to ¥110 from ¥90 on a pre-split basis. The interim dividend forecast stays at ¥100, including a ¥10 dividend marking the 130th anniversary of the bank's founding. On a pre-split basis, the annual dividend forecast rises to ¥210 from ¥190, compared with ¥142.50 a year earlier.

Separately, the bank said wholly owned subsidiary Awagin Connect, which operates the Lacycle mall e-commerce site, will issue 2,000 new shares to broadcaster Shikoku Hoso through a third-party allotment. The amount was not disclosed. The bank's voting stake will fall to 50% from 100%, turning Awagin Connect into an equity-method affiliate, with a minor impact expected on consolidated results for the fiscal year.

The 5-for-1 stock split takes effect on Oct. 1, 2026. The record date for the interim dividend is Sept. 30, 2026, based on pre-split shares, and for the year-end dividend March 31, 2027, based on post-split shares. Payment for the Awagin Connect share issue is scheduled for Nov. 2, 2026.
