e-Supportlink cuts operating profit forecast 58.8%, net profit outlook undetermined

Fresh produce supply-chain services provider e-Supportlink (2493) on Oct. 1 cut its consolidated operating profit forecast for the year ending November 2026 by 58.8% to ¥91 million from ¥221 million, and changed its net profit forecast to undetermined, citing signs of impairment losses in some businesses.

Operating profit forecast¥91 million (from ¥221 million)
Ordinary profit forecast¥117 million (from ¥219 million)
Net profit forecastUndetermined (from ¥144 million)
Nine-month net loss¥12 million

The revision replaces the forecast announced on Jan. 14, 2026, for the year ending Nov. 30, 2026. The company lowered its sales forecast by 2.2% to ¥6.876 billion from ¥7.033 billion. It also lowered its ordinary profit forecast by 46.4% to ¥117 million from ¥219 million.

The company said the rollout of services in its produce sales-floor development support business was delayed. In its local vegetable procurement support business, planned services to a major mass retailer did not reach agreement. Both businesses are expected to fall short of their sales plans. Upfront costs for introducing and operating services in the sales-floor business also pushed operating and ordinary profit well below plan. Some businesses show signs of impairment losses whose earnings impact cannot be reasonably estimated at this point. The company said it will announce a net profit forecast promptly once the figure can be calculated.

The company also released nine-month results for Dec. 1, 2025-Aug. 31, 2026. Sales rose 3.4% to ¥4.905 billion, while operating profit fell 30.8% to ¥44 million. It posted a net loss attributable to owners of the parent of ¥12 million, compared with a profit of ¥18 million a year earlier. The agricultural support segment's loss widened to ¥179 million from ¥157 million. The company attributed the wider loss to upfront investment in apple production and a temporary adjustment in the pace of sweet potato sales.

The company kept its year-end dividend forecast unchanged at ¥5.00 per share.
