Meisei Kogyo (1976) on Oct. 22 lowered its consolidated forecast for first-half net profit attributable to owners of the parent for the fiscal year ending March 2027 to ¥1.85 billion from ¥2.40 billion, a 22.9% cut, while leaving its sales and operating profit forecasts unchanged.

The board approved the revision to the forecast first published on May 8, 2026, covering the April 1-Sept. 30, 2026 period. Ordinary profit is now projected at ¥2.90 billion, down ¥300 million, or 9.4%, from ¥3.20 billion. Earnings per share are seen at ¥40.30, versus ¥52.29 previously. Sales remain at ¥28.0 billion and operating profit at ¥2.60 billion.

The company said sales and operating profit are expected to come in as previously announced, but net non-operating income fell short of its initial forecast, mainly due to losses from investment partnership operations, and tax expenses are expected to exceed its assumptions, pushing ordinary profit and net profit below the earlier projections.

For the same period a year earlier, the first half of the fiscal year ended March 2026, the company reported sales of ¥28.3 billion, operating profit of ¥2.799 billion, ordinary profit of ¥3.123 billion and net profit of ¥1.90 billion, or ¥39.92 per share.

Meisei Kogyo said it plans to keep its interim dividend for the fiscal year ending March 2027 unchanged at ¥25 per share.
