Kameda Seika cuts full-year net profit forecast 41.9% to ¥2.5 billion

Mon, Nov 02, 2026 14:00 JST Kameda Seika Co., Ltd. (2220.T) Food 中文

Kameda Seika Co., Ltd. (2220) on Nov. 2 cut its consolidated net profit forecast for the year ending March 2027 by 41.9% to ¥2.5 billion from ¥4.3 billion, citing supply constraints at overseas subsidiary TH FOODS, INC. and persistently high raw material and energy costs.

FY net profit forecast¥2.5 billion (from ¥4.3 billion)
FY operating profit forecast¥5.5 billion (from ¥8.3 billion)
1H net sales¥69.0 billion
1H net profit¥1.48 billion

The rice cracker maker lowered its operating profit forecast 33.7% to ¥5.5 billion from ¥8.3 billion and trimmed its sales forecast 0.7% to ¥142.0 billion.

ItemPreviousRevisedChange
Net sales¥143.0 billion¥142.0 billion-0.7%
Operating profit¥8.3 billion¥5.5 billion-33.7%
Ordinary profit¥7.7 billion¥5.1 billion-33.8%
Net profit¥4.3 billion¥2.5 billion-41.9%

In its domestic rice cracker business, the company revised prices mainly on key brands from October 2026, but volumes have declined following the revision, and it expects the full effect from the fourth quarter onward. At TH FOODS, higher-than-expected staff turnover in some processes reduced production efficiency and constrained supply, resulting in lost sales despite steady demand. The company said it is reviewing wage levels, strengthening recruitment and training, and improving line efficiency, with effects expected to emerge gradually from the fourth quarter. Operating profit in the food business is running above plan.

First-half results released the same day showed net sales up 4.9% to ¥69.0 billion and operating profit up 24.1% to ¥2.47 billion. Net profit fell 93.4% to ¥1.48 billion, as the year-earlier period included a ¥20.6 billion gain on step acquisition related to TH FOODS.

The annual dividend forecast is unchanged at ¥24 per share, including a ¥5 interim payout, reflecting a 3-for-1 stock split effective April 1, 2026.

Kameda Seika plans to file its semi-annual report on Nov. 10, begin paying the interim dividend on Dec. 2 and hold a briefing for institutional investors and analysts via Zoom webinar on Nov. 13.
