The company said demand is rising in its semiconductor equipment-related business, including ceramic and quartz semiconductor material products for chipmaking equipment linked to generative AI, as well as vacuum seals and metal processing. In its electronic devices business, demand for thermo-modules used in optical transceivers for AI data centers has also increased. Reflecting these conditions, it also updated its consolidated income tax estimates and now expects net profit to rise substantially.

The forecast assumes an exchange rate of ¥158 per U.S. dollar, unchanged from the previous announcement. The company said it will review the numerical targets of its medium-term management plan after monitoring business trends and announce them separately.
