Oxide Corporation (6521), a maker of optical single crystals and lasers listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange's Growth market, on Oct. 15 raised its consolidated net profit forecast for the year ending February 2027 to ¥1,328 million from ¥597 million, an increase of 122.44%.

Revised FY net profit¥1,328 million
Revised FY operating profit¥1,367 million
Revised FY net sales¥10,323 million
First-half operating profit¥641 million

The revision updates guidance issued on April 14 and was released alongside first-half results.

ItemPreviousRevisedChange
Net sales¥9,828 million¥10,323 million+5.03%
Operating profit¥933 million¥1,367 million+46.51%
Ordinary profit¥788 million¥1,234 million+56.59%
Net profit¥597 million¥1,328 million+122.44%

Earnings per share are now forecast at ¥114.50, versus ¥52.14 previously. The company posted a net loss of ¥538 million in the year ended February 2026.

Oxide said higher shipments of single crystals and laser products in its semiconductor business, and of Faraday rotators for data centers in its new-domain business, would lift sales in both segments above the earlier plan. It expects second-half sales in its healthcare business to fall short, as talks with major customers over revised terms amid rising raw material prices continue. The larger increase in net profit reflects items including a ¥280 million special gain on donated fixed assets announced on Sept. 9.

For the March-August first half, sales rose 18.9% to ¥4,935 million. Operating profit was ¥641 million, compared with a ¥189 million loss a year earlier, and net profit was ¥571 million against a ¥270 million loss. The company cited higher sales and an improved gross margin.

Subsidiary Oxide Power Crystal booked a ¥96 million subsidy from the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) Green Innovation Fund as a special gain in the second quarter, along with a ¥92 million special loss from reducing the book value of fixed assets acquired with the subsidy under corporate tax rules. Both are reflected in the revised forecast.

The company kept its annual dividend forecast at zero.
