Inabata Sangyo (8098) raised its full-year net profit forecast to ¥22.0 billion from ¥21.0 billion after first-half net profit of ¥13.45 billion beat its own projection by 34.5%, and announced a buyback of up to 1 million shares worth up to ¥5.4 billion.
For the April-September first half, net sales rose 17.7% from a year earlier to ¥485.76 billion, operating profit climbed 38.5% to ¥19.46 billion and net profit attributable to owners of the parent increased 12.5%. Operating profit was 49.7% above the forecast the company issued on May 11, 2026.
The company said the situation in the Middle East pushed up raw material prices and lifted demand for substitute materials, raising both sales volumes and prices mainly in its synthetic resins and chemicals businesses, while new business wins also contributed. It added that some customers appeared to have been securing inventory and that a pullback began in some products from the middle of the second quarter, which it said required close monitoring from the third quarter onward.

The buyback covers up to 1.86% of shares outstanding excluding treasury stock, through trust-based market purchases on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. All repurchased shares will be canceled. The company cited a financial strategy under its "New Challenge 2026" medium-term plan of further improving capital efficiency and emphasizing shareholder returns.
Next steps: The repurchase period runs from Nov. 10, 2026, to March 31, 2027, with the number of shares to be canceled to be announced after completion. The company plans to file its semiannual report on Nov. 13, 2026, and begin paying the interim dividend on Dec. 1, 2026.
