Dai Nippon Toryo Co., Ltd. (4611) on Oct. 27 raised its full-year net profit forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2027 by 70.6% to ¥5.8 billion from ¥3.4 billion, citing a recovery in domestic paint sales and price revisions.

FY operating profit forecast¥8.0 billion (prev. ¥5.5 billion)

Dai Nippon Toryo said sales volumes in its domestic paint business exceeded initial assumptions, led by coatings for structures, as sales recovered after a temporary suspension of its JIS mark labeling was lifted in the previous fiscal year and recurrence-prevention measures progressed. It also revised selling prices to reflect higher raw material costs, while higher volumes improved production efficiency.

First-half net profit will also include an extraordinary gain of about ¥410 million on the sale of shares in an affiliate. In a separate filing the same day, the company said it had completed the transfer of its entire equity interest in a consolidated subsidiary in Zhejiang, China, and finalized the consideration. The unit is expected to be removed from consolidation as of the end of the first half, with the gain arising mainly from the reversal of foreign currency translation adjustments. The sale was first announced on Feb. 26, 2026.

For the full year, the company said uncertainty remains over demand trends and raw material prices, but it raised its sales and profit forecasts at every level based on first-half progress.
