Simplex Holdings (4373) on Oct. 28 raised its forecasts for the fiscal year ending March 2027, lifting revenue to ¥71.0 billion from ¥70.0 billion and operating profit to ¥17.5 billion from ¥17.2 billion, while keeping net profit attributable to owners of the parent at ¥12.4 billion.

FY revenue forecast (revised)¥71.0 billion
FY operating profit forecast (revised)¥17.5 billion
FY net profit forecast (unchanged)¥12.4 billion
H1 revenue¥33.1 billion

The IT services group said demand for digital transformation (DX) remained firm and revenue per engineer and consultant rose, with first-half revenue and operating profit landing broadly in line with its initial forecast. It expects to expand capacity in the second half by adding engineers and consultants and said current orders are strong. Under the investment phase of its "Chukei 2030 -Vision1000-" medium-term plan, it will keep stepping up growth investment, including R&D and AI usage fees, but expects gross profit growth to outpace those costs.

For the April-September first half, revenue rose 19.1% to ¥33.1 billion and operating profit increased 4.8% to ¥7.40 billion, both records on a quarterly and half-year basis. Net profit attributable to owners of the parent edged up 0.7% to ¥4.81 billion. Gross margin improved to 46.5% from 43.9%, while operating margin narrowed to 22.3% from 25.4%. R&D expenses rose to ¥1.88 billion from ¥556 million.

First-half net profit fell short of the initial forecast as the impact of non-deductible costs tied to a shareholder benefit program introduced this fiscal year exceeded assumptions, among other factors. The company expects the shortfall to be offset by higher second-half profit and left its full-year net profit forecast unchanged. Its year-end dividend forecast of ¥24.00 per share, versus ¥18.00 for the previous year, was also unchanged.
