Sakurajima Futo (9353) cut its consolidated operating profit forecast for the first half of the fiscal year ending March 2027 by 97.1% to ¥4 million from ¥140 million, as some revenue slipped into the second half while related outsourcing costs were booked in the first.

H1 operating profit forecast¥4 million (from ¥140 million, -97.1%)
H1 net profit forecast¥78 million (from ¥160 million, -51.3%)
H1 sales forecast¥2.081 billion (from ¥2.1 billion, -0.9%)
Full-year consolidated forecastUnchanged from May 14, 2026

The Tokyo Stock Exchange Standard Market-listed company said on Oct. 19, 2026 that it now expects first-half (April 1-Sept. 30, 2026) net profit attributable to owners of the parent of ¥78 million, down 51.3% from its May 14, 2026 forecast of ¥160 million. Ordinary profit is projected at ¥102 million versus ¥220 million previously, a 53.6% reduction, while sales were trimmed 0.9% to ¥2.081 billion from ¥2.1 billion. Earnings per share are now forecast at ¥51.19, compared with ¥104.99.

The year-earlier figures are for the first half of the fiscal year ended March 2026.

The company said sales would fall short of its initial forecast because the arrival of some cargo in its bulk cargo segment and the receipt of special work fees related to tank operations in its liquid cargo segment were pushed into the second half. Outsourcing costs for the liquid cargo special work, however, were booked in the first half due to work scheduling, pulling operating profit below plan and, in turn, ordinary profit and net profit.

The company kept its full-year consolidated forecast announced on May 14, 2026 unchanged after reviewing its second-half business plans, including the annual planned handling volume of bulk cargo.
