The company said its businesses were performing more solidly than assumed. Uncertainty over the Middle East situation has not affected its manufacturing processes, while higher sales and a changing product mix are lifting overall margins. Efforts to improve quality, cut costs and raise operational efficiency also contributed. Against actual results for the year ended March 2026, the revised forecasts imply a 9.3% rise in operating profit and a 17.7% decline in net profit.

For the April-September first half, revenue rose 3.0% year on year to ¥47.96 billion, operating profit climbed 34.5% to ¥5.43 billion and net profit fell 4.4% to ¥5.50 billion. Railway vehicle sales fell 5.7% to ¥22.81 billion, mainly on lower sales of N700S Shinkansen trains for JR Central, while construction machinery sales rose 22.8% to ¥12.0 billion.

The company set an interim dividend of ¥25 and kept its year-end dividend forecast at ¥25, for an annual total of ¥50, compared with ¥45 for the year ended March 2026.

Next steps: the company plans to file its semiannual securities report on Nov. 6, 2026, and to begin paying the interim dividend on Dec. 1, 2026.
