OSG Corp. (6136) raised its net profit forecast for the fiscal year ending November 2026 to ¥24.0 billion from ¥21.0 billion, lifted its annual dividend forecast to ¥130 from ¥115 and announced a share buyback of up to ¥5.0 billion.

Revised operating profit forecast¥36.0 billion (from ¥30.0 billion)
Annual dividend forecast¥130 per share (from ¥115)
Buyback cap1.5 million shares / ¥5.0 billion

The cutting-tool maker revised on Oct. 9 the forecasts it issued on July 10 for the year ending Nov. 30, 2026:

ItemJuly 10 forecastRevised
Revenue¥185.0 billion¥193.0 billion
Operating profit¥30.0 billion¥36.0 billion
Net profit¥21.0 billion¥24.0 billion
EPS¥255.60¥288.48

OSG cited firm demand from the aerospace and defense, electronic components, semiconductor manufacturing equipment and data center, energy and medical sectors, which lifted exports from Japan and utilization at group companies. A raw-materials subsidiary kept using inventory procured before tungsten prices rose for longer than expected, amplifying the effect of price revisions, while refunds of U.S. tariffs imposed in prior years also boosted profit. The company flagged raw material prices and geopolitical risks as uncertainties for the fourth quarter.

For the nine months through Aug. 31, revenue rose 23.5% to ¥143.2 billion, operating profit climbed 100.2% to ¥27.5 billion and net profit jumped 121.5% to ¥21.4 billion, all record highs for the period.

Under a policy adopted this fiscal year targeting the higher of a 45% payout ratio or a 3.5% dividend on equity (DOE), OSG raised its year-end dividend forecast by ¥15 to ¥91, bringing the annual payout to ¥130, compared with ¥88 a year earlier.

The buyback covers up to 1.5 million shares, or 1.80% of shares outstanding excluding treasury stock, via market purchases on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, including off-auction trades, aimed at enhancing shareholder returns and capital efficiency.

Next steps: Repurchases are scheduled from Oct. 13 to Nov. 30, 2026.
