Kanagawa Chuo Kotsu (9081) on Oct. 29 raised its net profit forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2027 to ¥4.15 billion from ¥3.73 billion and increased its planned annual dividend to ¥95 per share from ¥90.
The company now expects revenue of ¥132.4 billion, up from ¥129.7 billion, and operating profit of ¥7.9 billion, up from ¥6.2 billion. Ordinary profit is forecast at ¥7.6 billion versus ¥5.63 billion previously.
The company said passenger demand in its passenger transport business is running above expectations, while sales of high-priced new vehicles such as heavy trucks and vehicle maintenance revenue in its automobile sales business remain firm. It plans to book losses related to a restructuring in its other businesses but still expects net profit to exceed the previous forecast.
The year-end dividend was raised by ¥5 to ¥50 per share. Combined with the ¥45 interim dividend, the annual payout is expected to total ¥95, compared with ¥90 for the previous fiscal year.
For the April-September first half, revenue rose 3.4% from a year earlier to ¥65.55 billion, operating profit climbed 20.2% to ¥5.68 billion and net profit increased 16.3% to ¥3.14 billion, above the company's July 27 first-half forecast of ¥2.35 billion. Operating profit in the passenger transport business jumped 45.4% to ¥2.65 billion, helped by a fare revision for route buses in April.
Next steps: The company plans to file its semiannual report on Nov. 12, 2026, and to begin paying the interim dividend on Nov. 18, 2026.
