The packaging maker said containerboard output exceeded the prior year as exports grew on firm demand in China and Southeast Asia, while heavy-duty packaging saw advance purchases of packaging materials linked to the Middle East situation. It has been revising cellophane prices from July deliveries.
Rengo set an interim dividend of ¥25.00 per share, up from ¥20.00, and kept its annual dividend forecast at ¥50.00, versus ¥40.00 last fiscal year. It left its full-year forecast unchanged: revenue of ¥1.09 trillion, operating profit of ¥46.0 billion, ordinary profit of ¥44.0 billion and net profit of ¥31.0 billion, or ¥127.34 per share.
Separately, the board approved absorbing wholly owned subsidiary Daiko Seishi, a kraft pulp and kraft paper maker Rengo acquired after it entered corporate reorganization proceedings in 2021. Daiko Seishi posted an operating loss of ¥5.50 billion on revenue of ¥10.66 billion in the year to March 2026. No shares will be allotted, and Rengo said the impact on consolidated results would be minor.
Rengo plans to file its semi-annual report on Nov. 13, 2026, and begin paying the interim dividend on Dec. 2, 2026. The merger is scheduled to take effect on Oct. 1, 2027.
