Amiyaki Tei Co., Ltd. (2753), a yakiniku restaurant chain operator, on Oct. 5 cut its net profit forecast for the year ending March 2027 by 26.2% to ¥1.07 billion from ¥1.45 billion, and reported a 33.0% drop in first-half net profit to ¥362 million.

FY net profit forecast (revised)¥1.07 billion
FY operating profit forecast (revised)¥2.0 billion
First-half net profit¥362 million
First-half sales¥19.96 billion

For the six months to Sept. 30, sales rose 10.1% from a year earlier to ¥19.96 billion, while operating profit fell 14.0% to ¥847 million and ordinary profit declined 12.9% to ¥901 million. Compared with the forecast issued April 3, sales were broadly in line with plan, but operating profit came in 25.6% below and net profit 44.2% below.

The company cited higher raw material prices, rising labor, logistics and utility costs, and sales promotion expenses that exceeded its initial assumptions, which pushed up its cost-of-sales and SG&A ratios. It also booked an impairment loss of ¥181 million as an extraordinary loss in the half.

Amiyaki Tei said it expects these pressures to continue in the second half, and that growing consumer frugality amid food price increases is also weighing on results.

The company kept its dividend forecast unchanged at ¥34 per share for the year, including an interim dividend of ¥17. It operated 311 restaurants at the end of September after opening six and closing five during the half; its core yakiniku business had 162 outlets and first-half sales of ¥11.094 billion, up 2.7%.

The company plans to file its semiannual securities report on Nov. 13, 2026, and to begin paying the interim dividend on Dec. 16, 2026.
