The company said China's tighter export controls on strategic minerals pushed up prices of tungsten, a key raw material for cutting tools, leading major cutting-tool makers to revise their prices. Customers also brought forward orders in anticipation of future supply concerns, keeping sales firm, led by cutting tools. Higher gross profit from increased sales lifted all profit lines. Projected earnings per share rose to ¥16.44 from ¥4.93.

For the six months from March 1 to Aug. 31, 2026, net sales rose 18.1% from a year earlier to ¥25.64 billion, operating profit rose 296.5% to ¥821 million and net profit attributable to owners of the parent rose 293.4% to ¥590 million. By product category, cutting tool sales grew 29.3%, measuring instruments 25.8% and industrial equipment and machine tools 2.9%. The company left its dividend forecast unchanged at a year-end payout of ¥4 per share.

NaITO plans to file its semiannual securities report on Oct. 8, 2026.
