Starseeds (3083) said consolidated sales for the six months through August 2026 reached ¥15.53 billion, 80.6% above its June 3 forecast of ¥8.6 billion, but it posted a net loss attributable to owners of the parent of ¥248 million against a projected ¥150 million profit.

H1 operating profit¥32 million
FY sales forecast (unchanged)¥35.0 billion

Sales jumped 518.6% from ¥2.51 billion a year earlier as its GPU server business won a string of large orders, the Tokyo Stock Exchange Standard-listed company said in a filing on Oct. 14. Operating profit came in at ¥32 million, 88.6% below the ¥280 million forecast, and the company booked an ordinary loss of ¥76 million. Loss per share was ¥28.69.

Starseeds said its grid-scale battery storage business sold only one property in the first half, deferring other sales to the third quarter or later to maximize profit in light of market conditions and individual negotiations. It also front-loaded upfront investment costs, including new hires and outsourcing expenses, in the battery and GPU server businesses and at headquarters.

The company kept its forecast for the fiscal year ending February 2027 unchanged: sales of ¥35.0 billion, operating profit of ¥1.6 billion, ordinary profit of ¥1.25 billion, net profit of ¥680 million and earnings per share of ¥73.25. It cited continued strength in GPU servers from the third quarter, a battery business plan weighted toward the second half, and the sale of loss-making subsidiary Chichikaka, whose entire shares were transferred on Sept. 10, 2026.

Total assets stood at ¥8,628 million at end-August, with an equity ratio of 41.5%. The company paid no interim dividend and maintained its year-end dividend forecast of ¥10 per share.

Starseeds expects to sell the remaining battery storage properties from the third quarter onward and said it would promptly disclose any forecast revision.
