Yamato Holdings Co., Ltd. (9064) cut its full-year revenue forecast by ¥23.0 billion to ¥1.895 trillion while keeping its profit forecasts unchanged, and posted a first-half net loss attributable to owners of the parent of ¥10.56 billion.
Operating revenue for the six months ended Sept. 30, 2026 was ¥906.85 billion, up ¥80 million from a year earlier. The operating loss narrowed to ¥1.75 billion from ¥3.78 billion, and the ordinary loss was ¥826 million, compared with ¥3.75 billion. The net loss attributable to owners of the parent widened to ¥10.56 billion from ¥4.89 billion, or ¥33.35 per share.
Revenue and all profit lines fell short of the previous forecast issued on Aug. 3, 2026. The company cited lower volumes from large corporate customers amid stagnant consumer spending due to rising prices, and the impact of natural disasters including earthquakes and typhoons on logistics demand. Operating expenses fell ¥1.95 billion to ¥908.60 billion, which Yamato attributed to centralized dispatching using real-time data in transport and more efficient pickup and delivery in the last mile.
Forecast for the year ending March 31, 2027:
| Item | Forecast | YoY change |
|---|---|---|
| Operating revenue | ¥1.895 trillion | +1.6% |
| Operating profit | ¥42.0 billion | +48.4% |
| Ordinary profit | ¥42.0 billion | +59.9% |
| Net profit attributable to owners of parent | ¥16.0 billion | +17.1% |
Yamato said volumes from large corporate customers are expected to remain sluggish in the second half, prompting the revenue cut, but that further efficiency gains in transport operations and pickup and delivery would offset the shortfall and secure the profit levels projected at the start of the year. Forecast earnings per share are ¥50.52.
The interim dividend was ¥23 per share, with a year-end dividend of ¥23 forecast for an annual total of ¥46, unchanged from the previous forecast.
Next steps: Payment of the interim dividend is scheduled to begin on Dec. 10, 2026, and the semiannual securities report is due to be filed on Nov. 10, 2026.
