NPC Incorporated (6255), a maker of solar cell manufacturing equipment, said net profit attributable to owners of the parent fell 63.7% to ¥481 million in the fiscal year ended Aug. 31, 2026, on a 37.3% drop in net sales to ¥5.811 billion, and forecast sales will rise 70.3% to ¥9.895 billion in the year ending August 2027.

Net sales¥5.811 billion (down 37.3%)
Net profit attributable to owners of parent¥481 million (down 63.7%)
Sales forecast, FY to Aug. 2027¥9.895 billion (up 70.3%)
Dividend forecast, FY to Aug. 2027¥11 per share

Operating profit fell 55.9% to ¥846 million and ordinary profit declined 54.2% to ¥880 million. Earnings per share were ¥22.84, compared with ¥61.36 a year earlier.

The company said part of a large domestic project slipped into the next fiscal year because on-site work on some equipment took longer than expected and was not completed by year-end. At its main U.S. customer, equipment relocation work was prioritized, pushing some modification projects into the next year. Sales came in below plan, while operating and ordinary profit slightly exceeded plan, helped by high-margin relocation and modification work and lower material costs on projects involving new technology or development elements.

NPC booked a ¥177 million extraordinary loss on valuation of investment securities related to shares acquired through its investment in Gosan Tech, announced in March 2026.

In solar panel recycling equipment, it sold frame and J-Box separators (three domestic, two overseas), glass separators (two domestic, one overseas) and one EVA scraper to a domestic customer.

Operating cash flow was an outflow of ¥1.894 billion, and cash and cash equivalents stood at ¥3.186 billion at year-end, versus ¥6.421 billion a year earlier. The equity ratio was 76.8%, down from 83.9%.

For the year ending August 2027, NPC forecasts operating profit of ¥1.38 billion, up 62.9%, and net profit of ¥826 million, up 71.6%. It kept the annual dividend at ¥10 per share and forecasts ¥11 for the coming year.

The next step: NPC plans to file its annual securities report on Nov. 25, 2026, hold its annual shareholders' meeting on Nov. 27 and begin paying dividends on Nov. 30.
