From a year earlier, net sales rose 14.4%, operating profit fell 5.3% and net profit fell 6.4%.

The company said unseasonable weather hurt domestic store sales in the fourth quarter, and a prolonged procurement problem with some high-priced lenses lowered the average price per pair. Stronger-than-expected sales in Taiwan and China offset the domestic shortfall. Profit was also hit by currency moves, the lens problem's effect on gross margin, higher-than-planned spending on medium- to long-term growth, and the consolidation of its Vietnam eyewear business from the fourth quarter.

The group had 878 stores at the end of August, 591 in Japan and 287 overseas, including 161 in China, 103 in Taiwan and 13 in Hong Kong.

JINS, which targets a consolidated payout ratio of 30% or more, set the annual dividend at ¥104 including the ¥47 interim payout, down from a previous forecast of ¥115, for a payout ratio of 31.1%.

For the year to August 2027, it forecasts net sales of ¥124.27 billion, up 11.7%, operating profit of ¥11.50 billion, up 0.4%, and flat net profit of ¥7.80 billion. First-half operating profit is expected to fall 21.7%. The annual dividend forecast is ¥104.

The company plans to file its annual securities report on Nov. 25, 2026, hold its annual shareholders' meeting on Nov. 26 and start paying the year-end dividend on Nov. 27.
