Willco Holdings (7831), listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange's Standard Market, said it realized a ¥105 million gain on the sale of investment securities after selling shares in 21 listed issues between Aug. 25 and Sept. 28, 2026, and will record it as an extraordinary gain.

The company said the sales were part of an ongoing reduction of its cross-shareholdings in line with the spirit of Japan's Corporate Governance Code, following a comprehensive review of holding purposes, the impact on business relationships and the cost of capital.

Citing the group's current cash-flow situation, Willco said the proceeds will mainly go toward near-term working capital, including payments for purchases, personnel costs and other expenses required to run its business, in order to secure liquidity. It added that the sale is also intended to meet near-term funding needs, make its asset holdings more efficient and stabilize its financial base.

The board had resolved on Feb. 25, 2025 to delegate decisions on selling the company's securities holdings to its president and representative director. The sales were carried out under that resolution, and the board approved their details and results at a meeting on Oct. 21, 2026.

Willco said its consolidated earnings forecast for the fiscal year ending October 2026, announced on June 12, 2026, remains unchanged for now, and that it will disclose any changes as appropriate.

The gain will be booked as extraordinary income in the consolidated fourth quarter of the fiscal year ending October 2026.
