The company said its forecast had factored in soaring material costs, but sales of tools for hybrid vehicles remained firm and currency movements also lifted results. Prices of tungsten, the main raw material for cemented carbide, have surged due to the Chinese government's tighter export controls on critical minerals, though the company said it expects to secure the quantities it needs for the time being.

By region, Japan sales rose 7.1% to ¥4.58 billion, narrowing the segment loss to ¥29 million from ¥107 million. Asia sales grew 13.6%, swinging to a segment profit of ¥24 million. North and Central America sales fell 4.6%, with segment profit down 9.4% to ¥179 million. Oceania sales rose 27.1% and Europe 14.0%.

Fuji Seiko kept its full-year forecast unchanged, projecting revenue of ¥22.64 billion, up 10.6%, and net profit of ¥710 million, up 2.5%, for the year ending Feb. 28, 2027. It set an interim dividend of ¥25 per share and forecasts a full-year dividend of ¥50, versus ¥15 for the previous year.

The interim dividend is scheduled to be paid from Nov. 16, 2026.
