GEOSTR Corporation (5282) said net profit attributable to owners of the parent for the six months to Sept. 30 rose 118.9% to ¥951 million, helped by gains on sales of investment securities, while sales fell 31.8% to ¥8.58 billion.

Operating profit fell 77.1% to ¥144 million and ordinary profit dropped 70.5% to ¥193 million. The company said sales of RC civil engineering products rose, but sales of segment products declined sharply.

Sales came in 19.0% below the forecast issued on May 15, 2026, mainly due to delayed timing of segment product shipments. Profits beat the forecast because most of the lost sales were low-margin segment products, some price revisions on prior-year contracts were realized, and some expenses shifted into the second half.

The company kept its full-year forecast unchanged at sales of ¥25.6 billion, down 11.3%, operating profit of ¥1.45 billion and net profit of ¥1.85 billion, or ¥60.39 per share.

It paid an interim dividend of ¥5 per share and plans a year-end dividend of ¥5, for an annual ¥10. Full-year net profit includes about ¥1.3 billion in gains from selling cross-held shares, which the company excluded from the dividend base.

GEOSTR also approved the absorption of wholly owned subsidiary GEOFACT Co., saying the impact on consolidated results will be minor.

Next steps: the interim dividend is scheduled to be paid from Dec. 3, 2026. The merger agreement is set to be signed on Dec. 25, 2026, with the merger taking effect on April 1, 2027.
