Architects Studio Japan (6085) said on Sept. 29 it will use proceeds from a third-party allotment of its 5th series of stock acquisition rights with an exercise price adjustment clause to shore up its finances and fund growth, targeting sales of ¥4,731 million and operating profit of ¥1,050 million in the fiscal year ending February 2030.
The Tokyo Stock Exchange Growth-listed company said the funds would go toward five areas: stabilizing cash flow and securing liquidity; strengthening its financial base and meeting listing maintenance criteria; growth investment in its mainstay architect proposal business; new investment in environment-related operations, positioned as a new earnings pillar; and new investment in overseas and IT operations for medium- to long-term growth. The targets come from a new medium-term management plan called "Phoenix." The supplementary document did not state the number of rights, the exercise price or the allottee.
The company described the fiscal year ended February 2026 as a structural reform phase. It abandoned a diversification strategy built on three former segments to concentrate resources on its architect network, transferred four consolidated subsidiaries, including SUPASPACE PTE. LTD. and MED, and booked large extraordinary losses at once, covering losses on the sale of affiliate shares, business reorganization costs and a lump-sum goodwill write-off. An extraordinary shareholders' meeting in November 2025 reviewed its management structure; it received an internal investigation committee's final report in December 2025 and announced recurrence-prevention measures in March 2026.
The architect proposal business connects architects, builders and customers for housing, renovation and commercial projects, earning royalties from member builders. The environment-related business centers on ALIN, a subcritical water reaction plant, sold through the architect and studio network. Subsidiary PERMITS AI is developing an AI urban design platform using government data and generative AI.
