Meiko to split shares 2-for-1, adjusts year-end dividend forecast to ¥40

Meiko (6787) said its board on Sept. 28 approved a 2-for-1 stock split that will raise its issued shares to 53,606,640 from 26,803,320, effective Nov. 2, 2026.

Split ratio2-for-1
Issued shares after split53,606,640 shares
Effective dateNov. 2, 2026
Revised year-end dividend forecast¥40 per share (¥80 pre-split)

The company said the split aims to lower the investment unit of its shares, creating an environment that makes them easier to invest in and further broadening its investor base. Common shares held by shareholders listed on the register as of the Nov. 1 record date will be split at a ratio of two for one. Because Nov. 1 falls on a Sunday, the effective record date is Friday, Oct. 30. The amount of capital stock will not change.

Meiko also revised its dividend forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2027, first announced on May 13, 2026, to reflect the split. The year-end dividend forecast was changed to ¥40 per share from ¥80, equivalent to ¥80 on a pre-split basis. The second-quarter-end dividend forecast stays at ¥80 because that payout falls before the split's effective date. The annual total was not shown, as the split prevents a simple comparison; on a pre-split basis it equals ¥160. The company said the revision only reflects the split ratio and does not substantively change the per-share dividend forecast. For the fiscal year ended March 2026, Meiko paid ¥45 at the second-quarter end and ¥70 at year-end, for a total of ¥115.

Next steps: The public notice of the record date is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 15, 2026, with the record date on Nov. 1 (effectively Oct. 30) and the split taking effect on Monday, Nov. 2.
