GECOSS Corporation (9991) said its board approved a business alliance agreement with Japan Foundation Engineering Co., Ltd. on Oct. 2, 2026, taking effect the same day and covering four areas, adding that the impact on its earnings would be minor.

GECOSS rents and sells temporary construction materials, designs and builds temporary works, and leases construction machinery. Osaka-based Japan Foundation Engineering, founded on Nov. 5, 1953, draws on more than 70 years of drilling and grouting expertise across geological surveys, foundation consulting, foundation works, ground improvement, maintenance and environmental conservation. It is developing automated construction technology and treats overseas business as a medium- to long-term growth area.

The two companies have no capital or personnel ties. Japan Foundation Engineering receives foundation and temporary works orders from GECOSS.

The alliance currently covers:

1. Strengthening existing businesses using both companies' strengths and business bases
2. Creating new business opportunities using their know-how and infrastructure
