Fukuoka Stock Exchange-listed Nippon Kanryu Kogyo Co., Ltd. (1771) said Masahiro Mitsuishi, managing executive officer and chief operating officer, will become president and CEO on Dec. 18, 2026, succeeding Tomohito Kaneda, who will become an adviser.
The board tentatively approved the change on Oct. 22 as part of a revision of the management structure following the expiry of terms of office, the company said.
Mitsuishi, born Feb. 26, 1971, joined the company in April 1994 and served as Saga branch manager. He became an executive officer and deputy head of the construction business division in April 2022, and deputy head of the management administration division in October 2024. He also served as president of Nichibo Co., Ltd. from April 2025 before taking his current post in April 2026. He holds 3,200 shares of the company.
The company also named five new director nominees, including a new chief financial officer, one outside director, and the managing executive officers who head its Southern Kyushu and Northern Kyushu regions. The current CFO will remain on the board as chief strategy officer.
Kaneda will leave the board along with a senior managing director and an outside director. After the changes, the board will consist of eight directors, two of them outside directors.
The appointments are scheduled to be formally decided at the 89th annual general meeting of shareholders on Dec. 18, 2026, and at a board meeting to follow, with the change of representative director set to take effect the same day.
